Meet Stacey

Meet Stacey

My name is Stacey Shinkel, I reside in Linwood, MI which is in the heart of the Great Lakes Bay Region.  I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with certifications in Mindfulness and Prenatal Yoga.  I teach at my home studio and City Girl Yoga studio in Bay City, MI.

Since 2011, I have been practicing Iyengar style yoga, which focuses on proper alignment.

I have been exploring yoga and meditation since I was a teenager.  During high school, I used to get up at 5 am several times a week to practice with my favorite yogis on PBS!  

At the age of 16, I found a book on Transcendental Meditation and that started a lifelong interest and pursuit in meditation. 

I strive to incorporate mindfulness and awareness into my everyday life by being fully present in each moment.

Yoga and meditation have brought me a deep sense of peace and awareness that have allowed me to better understand and connect with myself and others.  

I hope to provide a welcoming space for students to explore this connection for themselves.

I have joined Stacey's chair yoga class. I am new to yoga and definitely considered a beginner. Stacey was so easy to follow. Chair yoga was right up my alley of just beginning. After having a few kids, I am not as strong as I used to be. Newest baby is 7 months and my body is still recovering. Chair yoga was challenging without being so challenging I could not participate.
